Digital Information Literacy

Saras use of Animoto turned her sons 18th birthday into a real event on the internet.
The fast cutting and music made a series of stills into an exciting experience.
Animoto seems ideal for quickly creating creating an impression of an event.
The fact that it's a Flash video, and not a vector animation, which is what flash was designed for, is surprising, as it would probably take less time to download, and be higher quality.

Hi Will, great to meet you properly today. I'm really looking forward to working with you. I just hope you don't find us all (in midwifery) too noisy and rude. Just tell us to get stuffed if we are.

Seriously, I will be very interested in finding out more about your areas of interest. I'm just getting my head around Second Life - do you use SL at all?

The thing I'd like to ask is: how easy would it be to make a 3D representation of a pelvis and/or baby's head so we can teach midwifery students about anatomy and physiology?

is there any chance you can oput a feed on your blog so I can put it into google reader and 'keep an eye' on your posts?

Sarah, feeds are automatic in blogger (Will's blog) so just drop his blog URL in and your reader should find it. Otherwise, add "atom.xml" after his URL.

Will, for a vector version of animoto - check out DFilm: http://www.dfilm.com/live/moviemaker.html

hello will
great to see your blog up and running. It would be good to see your goals for what you would like to achieve in the project up on your blog = with some reasons for why the areas you choose are of interest to you.

You mentioned 3D modelling and an investigation into online surveys. are these still of interest?

It would be good to read about how you are planning to find out more about these areas.
